Becoming a Wound Care Center® Medical Director

Physicians selected to be Wound Care Center Medical Directors are all of the above and:

The Medical Director, Program Director and Clinical Coordinator comprise the Wound Care Center® Management Team. The duties, role and responsibilities of the Medical Director are divided into three principle areas signified by the letters QMP.

Our Medical Directors follow the Quality Management Philosophy (QMP) which helps each Wound Care Center realize its full potential. The Medical Director’s first and most important job is “Q” for Quality Patient Care. This is a responsibility that cannot nor may not be delegated. The second letter “M” is for Mentor signifying the Medical Director’s responsibility for providing both education and “coaching” to the entire wound care and hyperbaric medicine team. The last letter “P” stands for Promoter, indicating the Medical Director’s role and responsibilities in promoting the clinic and building the multidisciplinary panel. All three letters, taken as a whole, symbolize the leadership that is the unspoken fourth responsibility of the medical director.
