Through its "No Ulcers Campaign," the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) is making a concentrated effort to reduce the painful, life-altering effects of pressure ulcers. Since inception, it estimates a 70 percent reduction in pressure ulcer incidence, as well as a 30 percent decrease in pressure ulcer prevalence.

A year after Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama opened the region's first formalized outpatient program for wound healing, the hospital has realized a greater-than-expected increase in healing rates, exceeded its expected revenues and has provided world class care that was previously unavailable anywhere in the region.

Since opening The Wound Care Center in 2006, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway has exceeded its own goals, and outperformed many national benchmarks. In the last year alone, the Wound Care Center has served more than 350 new patients; 28% above its budgeted volume.
Through their partnership with Diversified Clinical Services, Inc., the facility's clinical results have also exceeded expectations. According to the Center's program director, Ann Lubas, "Our clinical outcomes have been tremendous. They've been well above the national benchmarks for wound healing, with a greater than 88 percent healing rate within 21 days." The facility's average of 21 days-to-healing surpasses the national average by a full two weeks as measured by Diversified Clinical Services. And the center's healing rate exceeds the overall national rate for a center in its first two years of operation.
